CARE

All objects created by bruci are hand crafted by local artisans using a wide variety of techniques and materials. Because of this, every product varies slightly in size, color, veining and patterning which makes every piece uniquely beautiful. In order to take the best care of your products and maintain their original condition, we suggest you follow our care recommendations.

Brass

To keep your bruci brass pieces shiny, clean them with a dry cotton cloth periodically. One thing to remember about brass is that it is normal for the material to get stained from the environment that surrounds the piece. Whenever a piece gets stained, clean it with a cotton cloth and metal polish. Avoid contact with water and extreme humidity.

Ceramic

To retain the quality of your piece and ensure longevity, hand-washing is recommended. Avoid moving items between extreme hot or cold environments such as an oven or freezer, as this could cause thermal shock and result in fragility and cracking and/or breakage.

Marble

To Marble is a natural product and may contain fissures, cracks, holes, pits and natural yellowing or browning can be present. No two pieces are alike but they are all relics of the earth that capture a moment in time. Marble is a fragile material so treat your pieces with care. After use, pat down the material with a neutral cleaner and war water and pat dry immediately. Marble is a porous stone so be careful not to leave water or liquid for long periods of time on the Marble as it will soak in and possibly leave a mark. The same applies to acidic products such as lemons and vinegar, strong pigments like cumin or turmeric, and oily products.

Nickeled Brass

Nickeled brass is regular brass covered by a thin layer of nickel through electroplating. The pieces can tarnish over time when in contact with acidic foods, chemicals and cleaning products that may remove the nickel plating. Regular cleaning with mild dish soap and a clean soft towel is recommended. A 50/50 water and white vinegar solution can be used to remove grime and oils.

Resin

Clean your resin art just as you would clean glass by spraying it with a mild glass cleaner, then gently wiping it dry with a soft cloth or paper towel. Epoxy resin is strong and durable so you can safely use a mild glass cleaner without damaging the resin surface.

Wood

Wood is really durable and as such it is worthy to take care of your pieces. We recommend using a cotton cloth and warm water with castle soap to clean you pieces. Do not let wood soak in water for a long time as this can damage the structure. If you want to give your piece a refresh looked, apply jojoba oil with a clean cotton rag.
